Amanda & Pete : I was so captivated by this young couple’s story, that I would have shot this wedding at any cost. This young couple had only spent a couple of months together during their entire 2 year engagement because the groom had been deployed to the Middle East almost the entire time. This young Marine and bride endured 4 deployments in a row. I think we often take for granted the sacrifice our servicemen and women make on our behalf. It was cold and windy that day on the beaches of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but the wedding party was determined to get good pictures for bride and groom and never once complained. All weddings are special, but some are extra special…Semper fidelis.

Matt and Shanna : The last wedding I shot using a film camera (Hasselblad 500c); I would say these images are every bit as good as the best shots I’ve taken in digital. I shot a complete roll of black & white film using a very soft gel (filter) and I took a lot of shots that were off-centered and slightly angled diagonally. This is something I enjoy doing, but you never know for sure if the couple is going to like it or as I say, get it. - I was lucky…they got it. I enjoy the convenience and immediacy of digital photography, but my Hasselblad film shots stand the test of times even after being resized and digitized.

Wilsons : This wedding was shot in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania using one Nikon’s first digital cameras, the D100 using a 50mm 1.4 and an 80-200mm 2.8 lenses. Photographically, this is perhaps the best wedding I ever shot. God shined on me this day, literally; nothing compares to a bright slightly overcast day, against the clear air of a mountaintop. This couple could have afforded any photographer they wanted; I will be forever thankful to the bride’s mom for taking a chance on a photographer who didn’t even have a website or business cards. The bride’s mom just happened to be a former photographer and her statement to me was, “I am not looking for a picture taker, I am looking for an artist who can be a participant in capturing the essence of my daughter’s wedding. This was not only the best paying weddings I ever shot, but the couple also allowed me to sell the images as stock photos. Btw, the Nikon D100 is a 6MP camera; to photographers out there…it’s not all about the megapixels.
